1. Agreement to terms
By accessing or using DaysWeeksYears ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
DaysWeeksYears is operated by DaysWeeksYears ("we", "our", "us"). These Terms govern your use of the web application and all related services.
2. Account registration
To use DaysWeeksYears, you must create an account using a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorised purpose
- Upload malicious content, malware, or harmful code
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity of the Service
- Use the Service to store or distribute content that violates the rights of others
4. Your content
You retain full ownership of all content you create on DaysWeeksYears, including journal entries, tags, and media files. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.
By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This licence terminates when you delete your content or close your account.
You are responsible for the content you create. Content set to "public" or "unlisted" may be accessible to others in accordance with the visibility settings you choose.
5. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
6. Service availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. We may temporarily suspend access for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.
If we decide to discontinue the Service, we will provide reasonable notice and ensure you have the opportunity to export your data before the service ends.
7. Data portability
We are committed to data portability. You may export your journals, entries, and media files at any time. We will never hold your data hostage or charge for data export.
DaysWeeksYears uses standard, open storage formats (PostgreSQL and S3-compatible storage) to ensure your data remains accessible regardless of the platform.
8. Self-hosting
DaysWeeksYears may be self-hosted. Self-hosted instances are your responsibility to maintain, secure, and back up. We provide documentation and support on a best-effort basis for self-hosted deployments.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DaysWeeksYears shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, arising out of your use of the Service.
While we implement backups and data protection measures, you are encouraged to maintain your own backups of important content.
10. Termination
You may close your account at any time. Upon closure, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. We will provide notice where reasonably possible and allow you to export your data before deletion.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the Service. By continuing to use the Service after changes take effect, you agree to the revised Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal resolution.
